Description
General Description
PLGA-SH combines the biodegradability and biocompatibility of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) with a reactive thiol functional group. PLGA has been extensively utilized in controlled drug delivery systems, biodegradable nanoparticles, microspheres, and implantable medical devices.
The terminal thiol group readily reacts with maleimides, vinyl sulfones, acrylates, gold surfaces, and other thiol-reactive compounds, enabling efficient conjugation of peptides, proteins, antibodies, targeting ligands, fluorophores, and other biomolecules. PLGA-SH is commonly employed in targeted nanoparticle development, hydrogel fabrication, surface engineering, and advanced biomaterials research.
