Description
General Description
DSG-PEG is an amphiphilic PEGylated lipid conjugate containing distearoyl glyceride (DSG, C18:0) and polyethylene glycol (PEG). Due to its long saturated lipid chains and strong membrane association, DSG-PEG is widely used in lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations and liposome engineering to improve colloidal stability, circulation properties, and nanoparticle performance.
Key Properties
- PEGylated glyceride lipid conjugate
- Distearoyl glyceride lipid anchor (C18:0)
- Amphiphilic structure for nanoparticle stabilization
- Strong membrane incorporation and stability
- Widely used in LNP and liposome formulations
Applications
- Lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations
- Liposome engineering
- mRNA and siRNA delivery
- Drug delivery systems
- Nanomedicine applications
- Biomaterial and nanoparticle stabilization
Functional Overview
The DSG lipid segment enables strong membrane incorporation and improved nanoparticle stability, while the PEG chain provides steric stabilization and reduced nanoparticle aggregation.
