Description
General Description
PLGA-NHS combines the biodegradability and biocompatibility of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) with a highly reactive N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester functionality. PLGA has been extensively utilized in controlled drug delivery systems, biodegradable nanoparticles, microspheres, and medical devices.
The activated NHS ester reacts rapidly with primary amines to form stable amide bonds, providing a convenient method for attaching peptides, antibodies, proteins, fluorophores, and other amine-containing molecules. PLGA-NHS is commonly employed in the development of targeted nanoparticles, drug delivery systems, and functional biomaterials.
