Description
General Description
DSPE-DBCO is a reactive phospholipid derivative containing DSPE (1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine, C18:0) and a dibenzocyclooctyne (DBCO) functional group. The DBCO moiety enables strain-promoted azide–alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with azide-containing molecules without the need for copper catalysts.
Key Properties
- DBCO-functionalized phospholipid
- Copper-free click chemistry compatible
- Rapid reaction with azide-containing molecules
- DSPE phospholipid anchor (C18:0)
- Saturated lipid structure for enhanced membrane stability
Applications
- Copper-free click chemistry conjugation
- Liposome surface modification
- Lipid nanoparticle engineering
- Biomolecule and nanoparticle functionalization
- Drug and nucleic acid delivery
- Nanomedicine and diagnostic applications
Functional Overview
The DSPE lipid segment provides stable membrane incorporation, while the DBCO functionality enables bioorthogonal conjugation with azide-containing molecules under mild physiological conditions.
Summary
DSPE-DBCO is a versatile copper-free click-reactive phospholipid widely used in liposome engineering, nanoparticle functionalization, and advanced nanomedicine applications.
