Description
General Description
Silane-PEG-NH₂ is a versatile PEG linker designed for surface engineering and biomolecule immobilization. The silane group readily reacts with hydroxylated inorganic materials, forming stable siloxane bonds that anchor the PEG chain to glass, silica nanoparticles, silicon wafers, and metal oxide surfaces.
The terminal amine group can react with activated esters, carboxylic acids, aldehydes, isocyanates, and other amine-reactive compounds, enabling the attachment of proteins, peptides, antibodies, fluorophores, and other biomolecules. The PEG spacer enhances hydrophilicity, flexibility, and biocompatibility while reducing nonspecific adsorption.
