Silane-PEG-NH₂

Price range: $260.00 through $1,600.00

Silane-PEG-NH₂ (Silane-PEG-Amine) is a heterobifunctional polyethylene glycol derivative containing a silane group and a primary amine (NH₂) group at opposite ends of the PEG chain. The silane moiety enables covalent attachment to hydroxyl-containing surfaces such as glass, silica, quartz, and metal oxides, while the amine group provides a versatile reactive site for bioconjugation and surface functionalization. Silane-PEG-NH₂ is widely used in surface modification, biosensors, nanoparticle functionalization, and biomedical research applications.

Silane-PEG-NH2 structure

Description

General Description

Silane-PEG-NH₂ is a versatile PEG linker designed for surface engineering and biomolecule immobilization. The silane group readily reacts with hydroxylated inorganic materials, forming stable siloxane bonds that anchor the PEG chain to glass, silica nanoparticles, silicon wafers, and metal oxide surfaces.

The terminal amine group can react with activated esters, carboxylic acids, aldehydes, isocyanates, and other amine-reactive compounds, enabling the attachment of proteins, peptides, antibodies, fluorophores, and other biomolecules. The PEG spacer enhances hydrophilicity, flexibility, and biocompatibility while reducing nonspecific adsorption.
